Citizens of EU / EEA countries (and Switzerland) do not need a residence permit to live and work in The Netherlands. Different permits are available for employees and their family members coming from non EU / EAA countries (and Switzerland).

The highly skilled migrant program is available for companies hiring international staff on a regular basis. This popular program enables companies to hire highly skilled non-EU staff in a fast way.

The Dutch based company needs to be registered at the IND as a recognized sponsor of highly skilled migrants. A residence permit may be available for employees who start to work in The Netherlands as a highly skilled migrant.

Different permits are available for employees and their family members.
